I can make pretty pictures with Adobe products but I can't service those Adobe products. I am not a "tech head" so I don't know how to get into the "nuts and bolts" an OS or APPS. I used Time Machine to install the exact same fonts folder in my old computer running OSX 10.6.8 and it runs just fine. I have since deactivated and deleted that font but the problem persists. The trouble started after I installed a new font. I believe this problem is due to a corrupt font. My work flow has now slowed to crawl since I have to now search through fonts using FontBook then manually type in the font I need in the font character field.
I am stumped and my back is up against the wall. I have read through scores of forum threads including at Adobe and tried every solution that was suggested and still cannot resolve this problem. I have had Mavericks running for a couple months but this just started. I am using a late 2013 Macbook Pro 13" with retina display on OSX 10.9.2. AI has suddenly started to crash when I scroll through the Font menu from the Type menu at the top of the program. Not sure which is the culprit at this point. Selecting a region changes the language and/or content on am in desperate need of help with either Mavericks or my Illustrator CS5 program.
